Virtual Office
What if you could take your Home Office anywhere?
VR
Published on: March 10, 2022
The Project
We developed a Virtual Office Solution that allows remote workers to access a personalized, immersive office environment from anywhere in the world. Imagine carrying your dual 4K monitor setup and office utilities in a compact virtual space. The application is designed for transitional remote productivity, enabling seamless work experiences on the go.
The Challenge
The key challenges were:
Can we create a productive virtual office environment as effective as a traditional workspace?
How do we ensure secure, remote access to IT infrastructure through a standalone VR headset?
How customizable can we make the virtual workspace for each user’s needs?
Can we offer a more feature-rich and efficient solution compared to existing platforms?
The Solution
Our Virtual Office leverages free and open-source libraries to minimize costs while maximizing quality. Built with the NewTek NDI SDK and OBS, the system allows broadcasting-grade remote viewing, ensuring privacy through a local network-only operation. No public internet connection is needed, offering airtight security and a portable, parametric monitor experience.
Cost, Time, and Efficiency
The use of open-source tools reduced development costs, and the localized network approach ensures high-speed, secure productivity without performance bottlenecks, making the solution highly efficient for users.
Design Features
Fully customizable virtual workspace (monitor size, shape, position).
Broadcast-grade quality remote viewing.
Can operate solely on a local Wi-Fi hotspot without requiring public internet.
Applications of XR Technology
Extend desktop display capabilities for increased workspace real estate.
Adjustable virtual screens for collaboration, presentations, and entertainment.
Remote access to multiple systems, enhancing productivity without physical presence.
